One thing i did not expect when embarking on this adventure was that we would see awesome beaches. After setting up camp in our site which was only 14 euros (yay), we convinced ourselves to get off of our stools (which appealed after a long, hot day of riding) and walk the 400 meters to the coast wearing our makeshift swimwear (read: cycling gear).
The pebbled beach was quite beautiful, though the water was a bit too cold for either of our taste. I didn’t feel like I would have done the French Riviera justice though if I hadn’t gone swimming so we dove right in. A bit chilly, but no worse than Bear Lake!
It was nice to take the afternoon and relax by the beach, instead of going to see some old building. While the tourism of Rome and Renaissance Italy was great, it is time for a break and time to slow down a bit and enjoy the ride.
