San Jose Mission

Brandon went to work on Monday morning, meaning Megan, Bree, Addie and I were on our own for the day.  Since we were in the land of the missions, we decided that we better at least visit one (the Alamo doesn’t count).  We all set out for a walk through the drizzling rain, and had a great time picking out awesome old doors and frescoes which have since faded in all but a few places.

The grounds of the mission were equally interesting, with an elaborate system for running a mill with the stream that ran through the grounds and greenery that we have missed in Utah for the past 3 or 4 months.  The weather, while a bit cool, was equally delightful as only a light jacket was needed.

Addie is seriously one of the cutest kids I have ever met.  At first she was a little bit shy, but once she warmed up to Bree and I she became a charmer.  She was particularly interested in mimicking our ridiculous poses while trying to get good shots.  After receiving a healthy dose of positive feedback as she was crouched alongside me while taking a picture, that pose became her new go-to whenever a camera was pointed in her direction.
